About FFD

about

FIRE CHIEF NATHAN BOWER

We are a combination fire department comprised of 1 career staff and  volunteers and operating out of two fire stations. We currently have seven fire apparatus that are ready to respond to any emergency.

We have automatic mutual aid agreements with both Central Taney County Fire District and Western Taney County Fire District for assistance.

We try to keep our community safe by promoting fire prevention campaigns throughout the year with programs like smoke detectors, extinguisher training and “Sparky the Fire Dog”.

On February 27,2017  the City received a Public Protection Classification of 04 on all properties in the City limits and went into effect on June 1,2017. We respond to approximately 400 calls for service per year. About 70% of those are medical emergencies.

Our average volunteer puts in 20 hrs per month in training and other duties. We actively recruit for volunteers to serve as Firefighters, Junior Firefighters or member’s of our Support Team.

We strive to make our community a safe and secure place for the visitors and residents of the City of Forsyth.

Please don’t hesitate to contact us regarding any questions or concerns you may have.
